₯ The Talk ₯

Post by J.J. Kinkaid on Thu Jun 24, 2010 11:31 pm

~:{ This post is in continuation of the Breakfast Thread. If you wish to be invited please pm and we can go from there, thank you! }:~

Steps were moving, forward she was going full steam in advance, that was until her sister ruffled her hair. She knew it wasn’t Malice per say but her sister’s shadow friends. Unlike some to her it was a bit of a reassurance to her. It was hard to torture one like her with shadows. She was walking aimlessly, and when Malice made the point, she paused mid step. “Aimless walking is not a past time for two. I get it.” Was that a bit of a smirk crossing her features, yes, it was there. She knew Malice walked aimlessly when she was agitated and she did the same.

Head would turn to give a look over her shoulder. Pink tongue would dart out to moisten lips. “Perhaps we should go up stairs or would you prefer to go outside?” The gardens or the stable either would work if she wanted to go outside. J.J. really did not have a set place to go, and she lifted silvers to her sister to see what her preference was, that was the plan. But that plan did not last long for she was headed to the stairs, her room had a small bar she had stocked up. “I need a drink.” The drink would not of been needed if the men around here...well anyways. Steps did not falter as she went up the three flights of stairs, not checking to see if her sister followed or not.

Once she reached the third floor, she was glad for the time that her room was the first door that they came across. Using the key she unlocked the door and went inside, she would of voiced an invitation to her sister but it was not her first time coming inside, so the invitation was not needed to be given. She did not stop she went right to the mini bar on the other side of the room, pouring herself a glass of straight up whiskey, before putting it on the rocks. A lift of her left brow at Malice in inquiring if she wished for something to drink.

Oh how the Sadist adored her sister. J at times was too much like her for her own good, and that brought a smirk of her own to dance upon velveteen softness. J was one of two people that was attune to how Malice thought and this time was no different. To her statement about aimlessly wandering Malice gave a playful wink and waited.

There was something indeed that was bothering her sister because she was like a whirlwind with the question and suggestions and it seemed she really didn't want Malice's opinion for they were now heading back up the stairs without one peep for the immortal beauty. Crossing the threshold of her sisters room Malice would close the door silently behind them.

"Whatever you're having will be fine."Once again Malice didn't wait for an invitation when she lowered onto the couch and waited for J. It was high time the sisters had this conversation and Malice knew she had better be sitting. Suddenly she had a feeling of when she was younger sitting in the principals office waiting for her punishment to be given out for some random act of teenage stupidty.

"I have a feeling you're more nervous to tell me what's been troubling you than I am to hear it."A ground breaker of sorts to let J settle and reveal the secret she'd been keeping. Malice already knew it had to do with Kendrick but she wanted her sister to come clean with her. Now, if it was that bad Kendrick would have another pissed off Kinkaid sister to deal with. Poor guy.

It was a good thing that Malice did not wait to be offered a seat, that would of gotten her a rather strange look, and perhaps a thought that something was indeed wrong with her sister instead. It would have been a good stall tactic all in all. But that was not the case, a sliver of a nod let her know that J.J. had heard her, that and the fact another glass was taken, and whiskey on the rocks was also inserted into the glass tumbler. That was one thing she was a stickler for every special glass that a drink could have, she had to have. Margarita glasses were a favorite. Steps would be taken, without words, to hand Malice the drink.

Once both sister’s had a drink in their hand, she would slip down upon the couch, at the other end, and turn so she was facing the other. Leg that was facing the back of the couch was bent at the knee and her elbow was resting upon the side of her knee, glass was given a shake. A small grin played around her lips, not at what she was going to tell Malice but at the words that had left her.

No time like the present, and she would give a gentle shrug of shoulders, before looking up and over to Malice from her seat, under lowered lashes. “I married him.” That was nice and to the point right? “It was a while ago, when we both disappeared.“ She held up her left hand, which was why the right had the drink. “This ring, it glows blue when he is near. It glows red if other demons are near.“ Not that she often looked at the ring. It was his way of marking her yet protecting her at the same time. The ring to the naked eye looked like a plain silver band, if one had better then human eye sight or a super magnifying glass they would see the etchings. He knew about her boy toys, she knew about his flirts, and it was her that started it. But she did not have to like it, not one bit, and she really didn’t like it when he picked up such in front of her. “I asked him not to say anything until I told you.” She let out a soft grumble, before lifting her glass and taking a nice long pull from it. She could of stopped him in the bar, if she would of really wanted too, but pride was a bitch.

Re: ₯ The Talk ₯

Slender fingers curled around the glass given and it was lifted for a slow sip as J settled on the couch, which Malice also took the time to position herself to be facing her sister as she prepared for the dreaded conversation. Hey, at least it wasn't the uncomfortable sex talk their mother had attempted to give, that was a total disaster, but anyway nothing could be worse than that conversation, until this one. That mask of stoic resolve almost faltered.

And there you have it folks. The Queen of Cool was just unsettled by what her sister just rambled off. She had married him? No, Malice figured they were lovers living together but marriage had never crossed her mind. Poor J was left to squirm like a worm on a hook because Malice did or said nothing except take another drink from her glass...draining it, then placing it on the small table near the end of the couch. It was better than throwing it, and if Kendrick would have been here he might find it upside his head.

"I see."It was really all she could come up with at the moment, that and the slow rise of her frame from the couch. J should be use to that, they both paced and walked aimlessly when they needed to think. So cue the pacing and the nibble of lush lower by ivory daggers. Even her beloved shadows seemed to sense her agitation and now began to flux and wail softly as their Mistress passed them by. Her mind was swimming but it all came down to one thing. Jacinda Joy.

"Are you happy?"The particulars of the marriage she didn't need to know about unless J wanted to tell her, but what mattered is that J was happy. There was no anger in her voice, no sadness but a genuine concern for her younger sibling. If J was unhappy and needed a way out Malice would gladly provide her one, but as it stood right now Malice would support her sister unconditionally, wasn't that what sisters did? Agree or not, J was a grown woman competent to make her own choices. Granted, they were not always the wisest of decisions but one does learn from ones mistakes.

That talk. That was the worst sex talk the school sex talk was better then the one that they got at home. Could bring shivers. It was a good thing that J.J. had others that could fill her in. And did fill her in. Maybe it was their mothers fault...anyways.

Surprise big sis look what lil sis did while you weren't looking? It had sounded like a great idea at the time it happened. Heck every so often it still seemed like a good idea. She got a nifty ring, that was a helpful little tool on her finger. Still had her freedom even if that very freedom was irking her mad crazy at the moment. She knew she could not put her toy on a shelf and not expect others to play with it, but in a perfect world that was exactly what would happen. Silver gaze watched Malice, carefully.

When she got up and paced, while J.J. knew exactly how she felt, because she wanted to do the same. If it was not for the drink in her hand, and her fingers pinching the inner palm of the hand that was holding the cup, she would of been doing the same. Between the two surely they would of worn a hole in the floor. So it was a good thing one of the sisters was seated. And staying that way.

Her decisions were not always the wisest, if they were she wouldn't of gotten into trouble back on Earth, he might be well endowed but he wasn't her best not even in the top five. A part of her did like staying at Georges because she knew that Kendrick would not go there. Was she happy, that was a loaded question, was it not? Her left brow perked upwards, perfectly arched, head tilting just a bit. "I am happy for the most part." A pregnant pause in her words. It wasn't that she wanted to unload on her sister but she did not talk to anyone about Kendrick. "It is my fault he is with that girl." A dark look would cross her features. "I'm the reason we have a open marriage." Which was odd seeing he was the one with a succubus for a mother. "I had a fit." A fit for J was not like a fit that others had she often did something destructive in her fits. If she was speaking to someone else, she might have to explain such but she wouldn't tell anyone else, so that was a moot point. What she wanted to do was find a toy to take her mind off of things.

Re: ₯ The Talk ₯

She wanted so badly to scold her sister for this latest bout of foolishness, well to Malice it was foolish. Who has an open marriage? Why bother getting married if you're still free to toy with others? Maybe she misunderstood the open marriage her sister had. She would inquire about that in a moment, but when J spoke Malice stopped pacing to face her, bringing those liquid depths of mercury fully upon her. If nothing Malice always listened to her sister unbiasedly...eh for the most part. Slender arms positioned themselves to permit hands to interlock fingers at the small of her back.

"How long has this been going on? Seems more like a game between you two than a marriage."Her tone was ever so soft, no blame, accusations or judgment. She simply wanted to know more about this marriage of her sisters, she wanted to know if it was something she wanted with her entire being, and not because she didn't want to share Kendrick with the world. You know, the I don't want you, but nobody else can have you type of thing. J deserved happiness and love not just a way to occupy her time. If J could have seen her hands behind her back she would notice that Malice's thumb was toying with her own band of gold.

In that moment Malice almost felt motherly, but then again she was protective of her sister. True, months had passed since they had actual contact, but Malice always had some idea on where and what J was doing, this however taught her a valuable lesson...not to leave J to her own devices. Since reuniting with her sister Malice had taken more trips down memory lane than she cared to admit. Malice wasn't the over affectionate type but those that did hold a place in her non beating heart knew it, or did they?"I want what's best for you J. If you're unhappy I will have a talk with Kendrick."

The Sadist has her own brand of talking with people. With each passing year Malice honed her skills to perfection, it's just a pity those on the receiving end of her special talks didn't see mastery as such. Velveteen softness curled into a most devious smirk. Yes, J knew what that smirk meant and only she had the power to prevent this talk, but Malice would pay a visit to Kendrick regardless. Hell he was her brother in law after all and Malice wasn't overly pleased with that realization. Perhaps a little covert mission to his room would be in order before their talk. Decisions, decisions.

It very well might of been foolishness on her part, and on his as well, because he allowed it. That would be her defense, he let it happen, but she was known for blaming the men. It usually worked. Except with Malice. Malice was the one person that knew what her sister was truly capable.

How long, how long, well hell. She had kept it a secret in the past, but those visits it was rather easy to do. Feelings were usually easy to hide, usually but sometimes they peeked out. Lower lip was bitten upon before she would answer. "Three years." It was three years, two good and faithful years and one not so good. "Well, it will be three years on July fourth." The people that were not from Earth might not know that that date had anything significant tied to it. She was happy or rather she had been happy, but she was the best at ruining things for herself.

She looked thoughtful as she lifted her silver gaze to her sister's mercury's. Happy, she was happy, actually, when she wasn't hiding the fact that she and Kendrick were indeed married. "Oddly, he does make me happy." There was something about a man that was not afraid to take what he wanted, and who would play her games, that made her happy. It was as if she knew her sister was still going to go and see Kendrick, the realization of the relationship would hit her, and she would want to know more about the man. "Mal...don't scare him off." She wasn't sure if Malice would scare him off, but she didn't want that to happen, she wanted him around.

Her thoughts were now going in the direction of her own talk with Kendrick. She took a deep breath before speaking. "He get's me. Better then any other guy ever has." Yes she stressed the word guy, because she did not want her sister to have other odd thoughts, because Malice probably knew her better then she knew herself at times.

Mantilla of ebon lowered to mere slits over mercury before returning to their normal position. Three years? Had Malice really been that out of touch with her sister for three damn years? Malice took some of the blame on her shoulders now for her sisters marriage. If she were around more maybe it wouldn't have happened. Although it was more for the show than the necessity a deep breath was given and released as she curbed the anger that was rising inside her. No use crying of spilled milk. A more intense study of her sister because the Kinkaids always did have this way of self sabotage when in a relationship, was this one going to suffer the same fate?

"Mhm." Malice wasn't buying that her sister was truly happy, the games these two played with one another seemed to be taking it's toll on J. Femme fatale now moved towards her beloved shadows, letting their dark tendrils caresses her as they always did. Soothing is what she found them to be, and right now she needed to be calmed down. The rage she was feeling was settled just below the surface and it wouldn't take much for her to explode. The laugh she released would not ease her sisters mind that Malice wouldn't try to scare Kendrick off, if nothing else it might make J feel a bit uneasy."Would I do such a thing?"

Rhetorical that was what the question was. So what if the Sadist was planning the kidnapping and demise of Kendrick...slow and painful his death would be. Bamboo slivers, salt, acid..yes that mental checklist was being repeated in her mind. That was until her sister spoke next. "He gets me" It was true that the sisters were hard to understand. They were unique and often times misunderstood so how could Malice deny her sister that happiness she claimed to have found? Malice would fight tooth and nail to hang on to it, and J would do the same. There would be no way a male would come between them. Not now, not ever. Velveteen softness soon found moisture applied by bubble gum tongue, it was almost a surrender of sorts for her."I'd like to meet this guy." Malice knew that Kendrick wasn't just some guy, hell she'd bet he wasn't even human.

Sabotage was a not a good thing, when it was done to oneself, now if it was the two of them teaming up to sabotage someone else it was a totally different matter. Part of her was waking up and wanting to fight for what was hers, the other part was wondering if she should do that, if perhaps she hadn’t already ruined the relationship. On the other hand, things you wanted were worth fighting for, right? Kinkaids were not the sort to roll over and play dead. It just depended on how much they wanted something. She had not gotten Kendrick by being coy in the first place.

The laugh, the words, oh she knew them well. Would she do that. Hells yes she would do that, and how did Miss Jacinda Joy know that, because she would do the same. She might not have the same resources that her sister had, but that had never stopped the girl before. She had been told she had balls of steel before, one reason why most guys shied away, rather disappointing. Men that can’t handle a woman that knows her mind and her wants and wasn’t afraid to voice them. A single word answer was given. “Yes.” Really she did not need to say more.

Oh that look of plotting, she could only imagine what was going on behind her sister’s gaze, and she did not like that thought one ounce. It wasn’t that she did not think that Kendrick couldn’t take care of himself, but she did not want the two pitted against each other. Besides if she wanted her sister to actually do something she was very vocal about that as well. It wasn’t often but she knew when she needed Malice, she would be there for her, it was knowledge that she had just like breathing. Now was the tricky question. “Is this your sister-n-law bonding visit?” It was her way of finding out if Malice wanted to do this alone or not. Part of her wondered if she should warn Kendrick, yet sometimes surprises were good, but he would need to know that she told Malice about their union. Did Malice think a mere human would be able to actually get her little sister? Really?

Re: ₯ The Talk ₯

Post by The Sadist on Fri Jul 09, 2010 7:57 am

For some reason Malice found this entire situation rather comical, but her features would not betray her thoughts. Honestly, she was waiting for the ominous music to start while she released a rather evil laugh, but she didn't. She knew her sister, could feel her thoughts and emotions and she knew that this male meant something to J. Flashing J a smile as she move to reclaim her spot on the couch hand came out to pat against her sisters knee...comforting it was meant to be, reassuring at best."Yes, but only because he means so much to you."

Kinkaid women were strong, independent and didn't take crap from anyone, and it would take a very rare man indeed to claim the heart of the sisters. Malice had found her salvation with Doug, and now it seemed this Kendrick had captured J's. Who was she to destroy the happiness her sister so deserved and seemed to have with this male. Granted, it wasn't an easy street and right now J's seemed filled with potholes. Malice would meet with Kendrick with nothing in mind except getting to know him for the sake of her sister. J was going to have to patch up the potholes of the relationship.

Waiting for her sisters reaction, Malice wondered if J thought it would be a threesome. Nope, not this time...Malice wanted a bit of quality alone time with her brother in law, that word even crossing her mind sent a shiver to dance along her spine. She still viewed him as an interloper, and she didn't take to strangers...even if they were married to her sister. The Sadist would behave herself, no veiled or open threats towards him, no trying to run him out of town...at least for now. She wanted to get a feel of him, to see if his intentions were admirable towards her sister. Plus, she knew a mere human could never catch J's attention so it was best she find out exactly what the male was.

Finding the situation comical was probably for the best. For finding said situation in a different way, well that could spell trouble with a capital T, or even disaster. They were suppose to be behaving, were they not? Not sayin’ that they could or would keep to that. But hopefully for the Inn’s sake they would. No promises. When Malice claimed her spot on the couch once more, and her hand patted J.J.’s knee, a small breath was released, that she hadn’t know she was holding. That was probably a rather large tell tale sign of how she was worried about how Malice would take everything. Was she known for doing impulsive things, yes, but never had she done something as impulsive as what she had done now. Probably why she did not just announce it when they were checking in. “Thank you.” The look that she shot to her sister was fleeting but telling all the same of just how much the man did mean to her.

She would have such thoughts, but she knew well enough that if Malice wished them to go visiting together, Malice would speak the words out loud. There was not a loss of bluntness between them, they just seemed to understand it better then other’s that got the other end of their words. Not to say that the girls did not have their differences when they were growing up, all siblings had them, but through it all Malice always watched out for her. And J.J. knew that.

The hand that was holding the glass, moved to set the now empty tumbler down. A small grin slowly spreading over her lips. Oh, yes potholes her relationship with Kendrick were full of, but potholes could be filled in and covered. The fact her sister was willing to actually meet with the man, and not attempt to scare him off said a bunch, without actually saying anything. Of course, a part of her wanted her sister and her husband to get along, it would be best. She did not want to be in a tug of war, because she did not want to give up on Kendrick just yet, and that would be the ultimate outcome.

[[ Sorry it took me so long to reply but I finally did it and for your sake ended the thread. lol Don't want to always keep you waiting. Bwaha. ]]

Blood was thicker than water, and J was her only remaining family thus explaining why Malice wasn't ready to rip Kendricks head from his shoulders. Benefit of the doubt was given, and she would make an honest attempt to get to know her brother in law, for her sisters sake. Come what may, whether she truly liked him or not her sister would not be put in the middle of a tug of war. Don't mistake her kindness for weakness, for that would be a costly mistake. She was doing what needed to be done for the sake of her family."You might want to thank me after I meet your husband."

She couldn't help but ad that jab, but J would catch the mirth in her tone. Her mind would be wide open to the meeting and there would be no preconceived notions of what he was or should be. Pools of liquid steel glanced towards the door as if seeing something her sister did not, and with a fluid movement she was to her feet. Wink given to J as well as a smile. "If you will excuse me. I have something to attend to."And with that Malice was moving towards the door not waiting for J to answer her. She wasn't headed to meet with her brother in law, in fact something else pulled her attention but right now that would be kept between Malice and the object of her attention. She quietly closed the door behind her before making her way to her own room.
