Wondering....

Post by Rowan Fair on Sat Apr 17, 2010 10:43 am

Rowan headed up the stairs towards room 208. She sensed the others in and around the Inn and wondered about them. Well, she did a lot of that anyway...she wished she knew someone in the area.

She looked at the doors as she walked by and found room 208. She used her key and walked in and shut the door quietly. She looked around the room and nodded to herself, this will do just fine. She put down her one bag on the nearest table and walked to the bed. It had been a while since she slept in a proper bed, so she laid down on it and closed her eyes.

She was now alone with her thoughts, which wasn't a thrilling prospect to her, in the least. Why did I come here? Oh yeah, mom mentioned this town.... Oh well, might as well try to enjoy it...

She then fell asleep.....

He was starting become really pleased with his work here at the inn. Marcus had only been here a short time, but the work he was doing with De'Ryanna actually made him really glad he stumbled upon her and this place that night. For once he was actually taking pride in his work. Mainly, cause he was doing it not for a meesly pay check, or forced to do so cause of whatever reasons, or even cause he was trying to work an angle. No, he was doing it to allow his stay here. So, he wanted to make sure he was doing a good job.

At the moment he was delivering potted plants to the various tables around the inn. It just makes the place look more inviting and homely. Walking from the first floor up he carefully balanced three pots of a rainbow of color. The first one was the tricky one, but that's why he did that on the first floor. Get it out of the way early. Then, up to the second. However, regardless of his prowess, he would have tripped on a floor board that protruded up just enough. Jumping forward he would catch himself. But he could not say the same for the pot that used to be in his left hand. As it fell those coal would go wide. Hitting the ground the delicate pot would break and shatter. the cracking sound filling the halls. Wincing he looked down, then looked around, seeing if anyone had seen. But all he saw was closed doors. A small savior. However, as vision went back to the mess, he passed over the view of the door he happened to be in front of. 208? Hmm....hopefully no one was there to come investigate.

Rowan was a light sleeper.....all of a sudden a crashing sound woke her up. She shot upright and looked around. It took her a second for her heart to stop beating out of her chest as she realized where she was. As she calmed down she heard noises outside her door.

She cautiously got up, grabbed one of her knives out of her bag and walked to the door. As quietly as she could she opened the door a crack and peeked out. What she saw made her smile. What it looked like was that the man out in the hall had dropped a potted plant and was trying to clean it up.

"That would be a nice looking plant, if it wasn't in pieces" She said with a smile as she leaned against the doorjamb.

Re: Wondering....

He would be shaking his head as hands scooped up all of the broken pieces of the pot, making a small pile along the wall so they wouldn't be stepped on, or get in the way of cleaning up the soil. The good plant would be there also, as if watching, mocking him as he crawled around the floor making small piles to be cleaned up. But then he would hear that voice come from sorta behind and the side of him. Stopping, those dark hues turned to the woman looking down to him. Oh great. Not only did he break a plant, but he broke it in front of a cheeky woman. Perfect combo.

Oh yeah? Well that would be a helpful comment if it was..you know....helping.

Her smile was met with a smirk of his own. Turning body so that she wasn't getting too much more of a rear view fingers picked up the used-to-be planted flowers. Those too would be placed off to the side. The major thing he needed to do was get all of that messy moist soil up. Leathered legs moved him around a bit. Flowing ruby shirt draping just a little from torso.

Could I possibly trouble you for a damp towel? I promise i'll replace it. Not sure when, but I'm sure i'll remember to do it soon.

As Rowan looked down, the man stopped and looked up at her. He then smirked and continued to pick up the pieces of the broken pot and plant and made a slightly sarcastic comment.

Then he asked for the use of a towel... She nodded and smiled..."of course, I shall be right back...." She then stepped into the room and went into the bathroom to get a damp towel. She looked at herself in the mirror and laughed softly...this could be interesting, she said to herself.

She walked back to the open door, knelt down next to the man and handed him the towel.... "Is there anything else you need?"

When she turned to go off so quickly he smiled wide. If he was going to drop some flowers, at least he did so in front of a helpful woman. By the time she returned, he had most of the damp soil into a pile. Seeing her come back, hand would reach up to take that towel. But then she asked that question and instantly he had an answer that made his face turn to one of begging for forgiveness.

Um....actually, a trash pale or something. I could go get a box or something, but I don't wanna leave this mess behind. Don't want anyone tripping or something. You would have a pile of tripped bodies on your door step in no time. Even if that does sound appealing, maybe for another time.

Leaning back he would come to a rest on top of bent legs. Looking at the ruble he couldn't help but laugh at himself before looking up to her for an answer that would determine his next steps.

She nodded slightly at his answer and at his leaning on her. "I haven't taken inventory of the room yet, but I'm sure there is a trash can or something. As interesting as a pile of bodies would be, I do agree that we should avoid that....at least for the moment..." She smiled and stood. She looked at him for a moment before heading back into the room, then turned and walked in.

She looked around the room and spotted the trash can near the table. She walked over and picked it up. She walked towards the door and stopped. She watched him for a second and then walked out and put the trash can down near the pile of flowers.

Re: Wondering....

Not for the moment. Heh. He liked her already. When she went off to fetch whatever she could find he would just watch through the open door. Waiting for the help that she most likely didn't expect to be giving. Coming back, he would smile up to her, not moving. That is until he had that trash can. With that, hands would quickly start shoveling the soil into it. Followed by the bits and pieces of the broken pot. And then finally, that towel would be used to mop up the remaining flecks of the soil.

Thank you for your help by the way. Hope I didn't disturb you while you were doing something more important then watching a klutz clean up his mess.

Looking up to her for a moment he would smirk. He did try to keep eye contact while he spoke. that was polite after all. but at the same time he had to get that mess cleaned up before someone else came along. The last thing he needed was De'Ryanna finding out. She'd never let him do stuff like this again.

"You're welcome. I was just resting a bit, that's all, nothing important at all." She smiled at him. She then knelt down to help clean up the soil. She glanced at him, "I'm Rowan, by the way."

Well he never asked for her help. Hell, it sounded like he just woke her up from a nap. But, he would smirk over to her when she came down to start helping. Using that damp towel he would try to get every bit of soil he could. With the two of them, it really was short work. Nodding his head, he was quite happy with the outcome with an un-happy situation. And as the icing on the messy cake, he would grab those flowers. Shaking them off a bit over the can to shake loose any stray soil, he would shrug, handing then towards her.

A pleasure, Rowan. The name's Marcus. Please don't tell anyone about my little.....mishap. I don't need the laughs around the bar.

With that done, he would dump the towel into the trash can and stand, bringing the can with him. He would now be looking to her. Hmmm....nice to have some conversation during the day.

She looked over as he hands her the flowers that had fallen. Smiling...."Thank you. It is a pleasure to meet you, and don't worry, I would know no one to tell..."

She turns to put the flowers on the table then looks over her shoulder to Marcus..."You can bring the trash can in here, if you want, that is...unless you plan on taking it with you..."

His head would tilt as she said that bit about not knowing anyone. From his experience so far, everyone in this place knew everyone else. So him meeting another new person here was a bit of a surprise. Watching her turn to go inside, and yes he did watch. Those Marcus eyes always looked, he would smirk a bit. Hearing her words he would start to move inside. Before breaking the doorway, he would look to the floor once more, just making sure no shred of evidence was left behind of his little......oopsy.

Well thank you, Rowan. I didn't want to burden you with the trash of my doing. Though, at the same time, I guess I don't want to rid you of your trash can. I hate delimas.

Once inside he would look around the place a bit. Looked a little different then his own room on the first floor. More room. But, he was staying for free, so cant really complain.

So I take it you are new around here as well?

She turned as he came into the room. "Yes, I am new in town. I had heard it was an interesting place, so I decided to take a look for myself. Have you been around here long?"

Smiling, she gestured to the nearest chair as she sat down on the edge of the bed.

Pausing a second after she motioned for him to take a seat, he would smile. Turning form, he would make sure that door was closed behind him. Walking in, the trash can would be dropped off on the floor next to the table. Seemed like a good place for it. He would just have to take care of it later. He did feel guilty for the trash.

Oh not long at all. Been here...ohhh....about a week now. While I'm here I have the lovely task of tending to the gardens. Not the most pleasant work, but I enjoy it just a bit, and I get to stay here. So, I am liking the place.

Walking to that chair and taking a seat, leathers would creek just a bit. Probably not the most comfortable thing to be wearing while doing work, but it was his style. Sitting back, he again would look about the room, then finally her. Yes, most definitely better then his room.

So what brings you here? Just passing through, or are you on the lookout for something more permanent?

She watched him as he took a seat. She sat back a bit to get comfortable.

"Gardens? I love gardens, although I don't have much talent with growing things, myself." She smiled slightly. "I will have to take a look around soon."

She thought about his question. Hmmm...how to answer.... "Well, the original plan was just to pass through, but now....I really wouldn't mind settling down a bit somewhere."

His form would lean back in that chair. Hey, he was a guest. Might as well get comfortable. That deep brown hair, brushing just over shoulders as head tilted a bit, those dark hues looking over to her. Hands falling to either arm of the chair would let fingers play along the fabric, keeping busy.

I didn't think I did either. But there really isn't much to it. Just...you know.....gotta be careful about dropping things. I'll take you on a tour sometime. I'm still learning the grounds myself.

Hearing her thoughts on her stay here he would smirk. It seemed like she made decisions pretty fast. Hadn't been here long and already decided to stick around. If only he had the same state of mind.

Oh? Well what has made you change your mind, if I may ask? I'm new around these parts, but the city I am very familiar with. It's alright, but I am sure there's bigger and better things out there.

She does realize that she sounds fickle in regard to decisions, but...hey...gotta take chances sometimes. She smiles....

"A tour would be great. I do like to know the lay of the land, so to speak."

She watched him fidget a bit with the chair and thought that very endearing. She, herself, has a hard time staying still sometimes. She sighs, crosses her legs and plays with her hair a bit.... "I like the feel of this place. Not sure I could adequately explain...."

Well then, I will have to keep that in mind. As soon as I know the place a bit better, all of its nooks and crannies and such, I'll let you know. Would hate to start showing you around and then get lost for hours. I at least like to show that I know what I'm doing.

Smirking to her, being in a bit more of a playful mood. It helped to do after making a mistake like he did with the flowers. In fact, was he hiding at the moment? Well, not really. No one knew he was delivering the flowers at that moment. But still. It was always nice to meet new people. Besides.....hes an opportunist.

Well....I think you should try to explain. I got the time. Not gunna leave any time soon in less I get kicked out. So....why did you come here? Were we just lucky enough to catch you along your travels?

So, really, how should she answer the question about her travels? She may have to be a bit vague.

"There is nothing wrong with exploring either....the grounds, I mean..." Smiling...

"I was directed this way, a bit. I wasn't exactly sure where this place was located, so I was pleasantly surprised when I came upon it. The people I've met so far...all 2 of you...have been very gracious. So, I think I shall stay around a bit...as you say...unless I get kicked out."

Did she really have to specify the grounds? That was what they were speaking of. But the fact that she did, he would merely grin a bit. Seemed she had a mind like his. It detoured a bit from time to time. But moving on from that, he would nod as she spoke. While she did, he would stretch out his back a bit, arms moving behind back for a second. Then leaned forward int he chair, elbows resting over knees.

Well I'm glad. I have noticed this place is very friendly as well. I too have not met very many people around here, but i do know I like the place. And I am liking it more and more as the days pass and I meet more people.

With those words he would smirk to her. Perhaps some additional meaning to those words. Hey...it's Marcus.

She does have a tendency to ramble a bit when nervous... Why she's nervous now, is a mystery. She watches him for a moment, smiles and nods.

"I am all for making friends, I don't have too many at the moment, but I hope to remedy that."

She smiles and sits up a bit straighter.

He would watch her a bit. Performing his skill at reading body language and such. Plus, you can tell all sorts of things about people about how they dress, move, act, and all sorts of things. So he watched. Still leaning forward, hands would come together to let fingers entwine together. Perhaps playing just a bit.

Oh I am sure you will do that just fine. You are a very open and friendly woman. That goes a long way here. I mean....you could have just left me to my mess, but you didn't. So no, I don't think you will have any trouble at all. Just gotta get out and meet people.

He would be one to talk. Here he was here just over a week now and he still had only met two people. Well, now three. But hey, do as i say not as I do and all that.

You're the one that's been nice. So for that I thank you.

Hearing her compliment he would smirk. And even that look on her face would be a compliment. Oh yes, he noticed. And as if to toy with her vision a bit, he would lean back in that chair again. Yes, he was encourageable at times. legs stretched out on those leathers, feet crossing over each other.

So tell me about yourself. You have family? A mate? What do you do to allow you to enjoy life? You know, all of the easy details for one to find out.

"Hmm....let's see.... Not a whole lot to tell. The only family I have is my mother, and I'm not quite sure where she is at the moment. My father, who I never met, has passed, I am told."

She shrugs her shoulders.

"I have no mate and I like to wander and watch people, along with the occasional book reading." She smiles at him as she goes back to sit on the bed.
