Poetry Corner

Post by Tarinilis on Fri Sep 26, 2008 8:37 am

I figured there should be another creative outlet on here. Not sure if there is one, I hadn't fun across it yet. But this is for those who like to write poetry. Whether it be in or out of character, feel free to post it here. And if it becomes popular enough, maybe we'll get our own section somewhere. Muwahahaha. Sorry. I would start, but the poems I want to post, I have to find again. So as I get my hands on them again, Ill post them here. Enjoy.

Okay guess I will be the guinea pig. Though why I am posting this I do not know. BUt before i do should say Good Idea Tarin mun.....

Okay written long ago by me for an RP.

In a world that is ruled by sword and knife
Where hardships and strife avail
Where you can hear the wail
of those that have passed befor us
I pray to the gods to send me their dove
that they call love.

In a world where men and women die each day
I fall to my knees and pray to the ones on high
to send me their dove that they call love.
But alas a great sigh pours from me
and I decide to let things be.

For I know there are so many that have prayed that same prayer
how could my voice and my wishes be heard above
everyone else's.
So I dream of what my dove would look like.
I think about how love must feel.
I wonder if love is even real.

But then I was in for a shock
for here a beauty had walked into this shop.
She was all I dreamed and all I wanted.
I knew instantly that the gods had herad me.
My voice had rose above all others
and here standing before me was my dove.

I swore on that day to love her
and to hold her close to me always.
I pledged my undying love to my dove
and now on this day I shall be with my love.

Our hearts shall beat as one.
Our love shall be as bright as the sun.
Our lives entwined till the end of time
and each day I will take the time to praise
the gods on high
for instead of a sigh,
they have sent me their dove
and my one true love.

Hey, welcome back Tarin. I'm sure if people want a section the Admin will make one. Poems.. yeah.. I have some. I should post one...I just happen to think that everything I write is terrible. -end self-creativity mutilation- Formatting makes me feel better....

So here we are
The rain’s steadily pouring down
what is it we wanted to say?

Listen to it
The rain sounds so beautiful
Just like we once were.
But now it’s not the same
Our rain is cold and heavy
It batters down so hard.

Well?
Are you going to say something?
Or just continue looking at me like that?
That look hasn’t changed
So why is the rain so hard?

Say something
We can’t keep standing here
In the rain, in silence
Looking at each other
__ A puddle of black water laps at my feet
It’s raining remember?
The sky cries because I cannot
Cries as we stand here
in silence

Stop denying it
just say it
Why did we come here?
What is it we wanted to say?

Raindrops keep on dropping.
Why are you torturing me?
Why are you tormenting yourself?
Say the words
Put an end to the rain....

Ok, time to show off. I love you guys' though. I think this is probably my lamest one, but it has won tons of poetry awards, been published in several books of poetry and got me accepted into the International Society of Poets. Where I am an Ambassador of Poetry. So enough tooting my own horn, ya'll get the picture, when it comes to sappy mushy crap, I rock.

I never will be free.

The place I go to hide my tears,
is never far away
I keep them here inside of me
all neatly put away
When I look into his eyes
I wish the love was there
But then I realize down inside
he doesn't even care
The love I feel for him
comes from deep inside of me
But until I know he once loved me back
I never will be free.

All above poems are deemed good. It isn't the quality, but the expression that is made that makes the poetry. At least the way I look at it. Kudos to all of you. And sorry for not posting mine yet, still have to get the link to them.

And here is one.

The Lonely Wanderer

I am a lone wanderer
far from my homeland
I choose my path blindly
but not without faith

I choose to fight my own battles
I run from naught much
I fear when I need to
Which isn't too often

I choose naught another
to hide me from pain
I am what I am
Thats all that I can be

I am a lone wanderer
far from my homeland
I choose my path blindly
but not without faith

I am the Outcast

I am the outcast
I am the wanderer
I cannot hold onto life
without letting something go

In this case I let slip
My sense of belonging
As I chose the life of the half-breed
choosing not my heritage

I chose the life of the wanderer
the life of one without home
One day I may find my place
But until then I am alone

I am the outcast
I am the wanderer
I cannot hold onto life
without letting something go

The Hearts Desires

My heart desires a Home
I desire a family
Both of these I lack
Do to my choices in life

Home is a place
Where the heart lives
Family is something
That everyone has

The wanderer has neither
Or so this one does not
He desires them now
More than anything

Searching forever this one will be
For the Home he so desires
and the Family so Fair
He is destined to be alone for eternity.

I would write more, but just haven't felt in the mood. I wrote those many years ago, and they were the poems that were on Tarin's character webpage. It was deleted, sorta. I can still get to it, but you can't really search and find it. AOL home page and all. Anyway, Ill post more as I come to them. I think I have some more online somewhere, if I can remember where.

Yea, I tried to drag some of mine out of DarkPoetry, but they want like money and lots of it and they don't even have the ones I posted back in the days of the SBR anymore. I didn't have any on Venis or Tasha's pages. But I have ton's of them, I just have to find the hard copies, or if all else fails I'll write something new.

Here is one that I use when I go to bed. I post it as my aim away message.

I lay my head upon the pillow
My mind goes blank and I find
Visions of rivers, and of Willows
Resting my body and my mind
Dreams of this and dreams of that
Dance through my head
Running around like a rat
As I sleep upon the bed.

I know one that my grandmother sent me from highschool. Not sure where it came from.

Now I lay me down to sleep
A pile of books upon my chest.
If I die before I wake
That is one less test
I have to take.

Change of pace. A haiku, written by a samurai long, long ago. Seems fitting.

Ok, in the mood to just spout off from the top of my head.

She sits alone in the dark
Watching the two in the park
The lovers walk hand in hand
Past an empty box of sand
Passing trees along the way
Enjoying the end of a perfect day
Into the shadows is where they go
It's just too bad that they don't know
For something lurks just out of sight
Something that really just ain't right
In the blink of an eye the two do part
And that is when the fun does start
She drinks first from her soft skin
He has no idea the trouble he's in
Once she's dry she falls away
She's been waiting for this all day
Disrobed and grounded in a flash
He rolls over to make a mad dash
Unable to escape her tight grip
He feels something inside of him rip
Rolled onto his back he screams in fear
But she knows that no one can hear
She takes what she wants without a care
Not caring about it not being fair
And when she's done she drinks him too
Before she up and comes home to you.
(c) 2008

Hmm, yea, maybe that should be dedicated. LOL Sorry if it got too morbid for anyone. I was just typing up what came to mind. Seriously, just came to mind right now, took me about three minutes to type it up. Hope ya'll like it.
